Reflection
I photographed areas that I go to escape the stress of everyday life. They are peaceful places where I can go to think or clear my head. These places mean a lot to me, but would be easily skimmed over or never found by others. I photographed many objects that I found in these special places ranging from railroad tracks, to an empty bottle, to an abandoned piece of machinery. These subjects create a sense of isolation but also inner peace. When viewing my work, I want the viewer to forget their current problems. Photography allows me to capture what I see, so I can view it again later. My photos bring up memories of places, people and events in my past, both good and bad. Photography’s ability to produce these memories is what makes it meaningful to me.
